Pathetic response by Nascar. They too must've thought Brad Keselowski deserved it. In my opinion, the whole act was bush league. You pick your spots sometime down the road. It is real cheap when you take out a top 10 car with 3 laps to go when you aren't even racing him for position. It was premeditated.
Since this is Nascar's response, what's to say a guy leading the race by 5 seconds doesn't get taken out on the last lap by someone who felt they were wrecked by him earlier in the race? All you are going to get is a measly 3-race probation.
At minimum, Edwards needed a penalty of at least 100 championship points. And probation for 3 races? It should have been at least thru Chartotte or the Pepsi 400.
If I was making the call, he would've been suspended for 1 race, and docked 100 points and the team docked 100 owner points. And he would've been on probation until after they go to Daytona again. |

| Total horseshit. It appears that Mike Helton has a vagina after all. Probation means jack shit. |

Vagina hell. At least Danica would have stomped down the pit area and told CE to think.
Totally BOGUS penalty. _________________ "Don't give up, don't ever give up."

So in essence, his only real penalty was to be parked which prevented him from gaining 1 position and three points. Well I guess some will be hoping he misses the chase by three points or less come September |

from TroyM in the other thread:
| Quote: | If sometime in the next 10-15 races, I am running in 35th or worse in the last 10 laps of the race and Carl Edwards is having a nice run, even leading by a large margin, I would just turn right into him as he came by me ala Days of Thunder style. Who cares if they park you, not much of a points loss. Then just go to the trailer and collect your 3 race probation.

Carl had better hope he's not on the bubble for the chase, or Richmond's gonna be a bad day |

They can't. Drama sells.
Didn't they already state they weren't going to police things this year - let the guys play rough?
I figured they'd do something. Spinning guys at 50 mph on cool down is what they want. Guys throwing gloves and helmets at other cars is what they want. The occasional scuffle in the pits or the garage is what they want. Sounds bites for ESPN, that's what they want.
They don't want guys clipping others, and sending them airborne towards a fence, and potentially devastating lawsuits. They have to stress to guys that if they send one of their competitors into, or over, the fence - the party could be over for all of them.
Potentially a "kangaroo court" type deal this year that assures Carl gets no where near the chase? He's fucking with all their livelihoods by spinning guys at full speed at a dogleg like that. |

| Hearing Rusty Wallace last night, he seemed to believe in conversations from many in the sport that Brad had that coming. I can understand that, but I really have a problem with cheap shots with 3 laps to go on a top 10 car by a car many laps down. |
